College and Career Counselling

The mission of College and Career Counselling at Centennial Academy is to provide a professional service which assists students and their families with educational and career planning by providing relevant, current and reliable information and guidance to prepare for today’s dynamic labour market.

Parents and students are encouraged to meet with the College and Career Counsellor to discuss academic requirements, CEGEP programs and admissions, career planning and decision-making, and colleges, universities and training options in Quebec and beyond.

For information or to make an appointment with the College and Career Counsellor, please call (514) 486-5533, extension 265. Students are also welcome to drop in during office hours.

Counselling Services
The counselling department has a Director of Counselling, a full-time school counsellor and two behaviourial technicians to help students deal with various issues. Parents may contact the Director of Counselling Services should they have any concerns about their child’s social-emotional adjustment and/or to assist their child in setting career goals and fulfilling aspirations.

Parental consent is required for all adolescents younger than 14 years of age to visit the school counsellor. Referrals for counselling services may be made by parents, faculty and/or school administrators. Services include the delivery of individual guidance, family consultations, individual coaching, social skills and career advising.

Our success with students is based on our ability to work with parents as partners. Together we support our students to discover their learning needs and accept the actions that will be required to bring about change. Together, family and school, we will establish a plan that best meets your child's needs to develop his/her full potential.

"Our son has grown over his five years into a self-confident young man. The support he has received to follow his ambitions is without equal, the staff always supportive and willing to go the extra mile to put into practice the mandate of the school to have each student reach their potential."

- Marian and Andreas Giannakis,
  Parents of a graduate
