Director of High School

The Director of High School will work closely with the Head of School and will be a key member of the Senior Administration team. In order to fulfill this mandate, the Director of High School will be responsible for faculty leadership and supervision, professional development, and ensuring that students have the means to fulfill their potential. This role will also be a pivotal interface between the faculty, the Director of Academics, the Director of Student Success and the Director of Counseling Services. Qualifications for this position include: solid academic credentials and a teaching background,  preferably at the secondary level; senior level administrative experience obtained in an independent school setting, familiarity with an IB school an asset; self-confidence, optimism, persistance, flexibility and stamina, as well as demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to focus on student needs; a direct, clear and consistent management style, approachabilty and compassion; and open, fair and friendly communicator with superior interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills in English.

Candidates for teaching positions at Centennial Academy must hold a teaching certificate; an advanced diploma or degree would be an asset. All Centennial Academy teachers must possess the ability to work with a wide range of learners, as well as a willingness and ability to be involved in and contribute to the Co-Curricular program of the school. Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme is an asset.

Economics and Business Professor

 Candidates for teaching positions at Centennial College must possess a Master’s degree in their field of expertise. Formal pedagogical training and at least 3 years of experience are assets. All Centennial College teachers must possess the ability to work with a wide range of learners, as well as a willingness and ability to be involved in and contribute to the life of the school.
  
 

Other positions:

  o Student Success Assistants
 The Student Success Assistant should be dynamic and posess initiative, strong verbal and written communication skills, patience, a willingness to be flexible and open to change within a school and be a cooperative team member. The Student Success Assistant will supervise, monitor and coach students as assigned both in and out of class; help students set goals, complete Student Success Plans and follow their academic progress; provide students with learning and behavioral modification strategies and skills to help them become more successful academically; provide observational feedback about student behavior and interaction; manage tracers and follow up; manage reports to the Director for all students followed; maintain appropriate, data-driven professional records; and support team members with knowledge of assessment instruments to meet individual student needs. Applicants should have a background in Education, Child Studies, Special Education, Counseling or Pyschology; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, as well as a willingness to perform a wide range of tasks.
